Definition
These are regular activities that people usually can perform without any assistance. Insurance policies often use the inability to perform a certain number of ADLs in order to determine eligibility for benefits.
Using the term Activities of Daily Living :
The insurance claims department wanted to determine the number of ADL's that Mrs. Smith could perform before deciding on her claim.
Pay Special Attention To :
A doctor's verification may be required by some insurance companies to certify ADL's.
